October 22, 2022 – Elstead Commons with Norman

This morning we decided to do a local circular walk as I wanted to show Norman the Dog Stinkhorn (Mutinus caninus) I had seen a few days previously. Alas, I could find no sign of them but in the same area, I noticed some bright twig-like things which on closer observation turned out to be the Pipe Club (Typhula fistulosa), a first for me. We continued on to the Common and finished off with a lovely coffee at the Little Barn Café in Elstead.
